Back in June, I had the pleasure of participating in a day of glass for the Arts Commission's Hot Shots! 12 artists over the course of about 12 hours made 12 pieces in collaboration with 12 different area bars/restaurants. The idea is that the pieces will be on display at the participating locations leading up to the Month of Glass in October, then there will be a Hot Shots auction of all the objects! Pretty sweet. The day of glass was incredible; blowing glass all day long with friends, it was just like being back a BG. I was paired with Tony Packo's and made a pickle jar with engraved labels in homage to the real thing. Check out the photos courtesy of Tom Brooks.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Firenation's Spring Open House to see my demo of the Wacky Banana! I had a great time; the crowd was awesome, my assistants were spot on, and Matt and the Firenation Crew were generous as always. Check out the gallery below for some great photos of the demo. Friend and photographer Bill Hamilton does a fantastic job telling the story of the Wacky Banana. Stay tuned for a photo of the finished piece!
Join me for the Firenation Spring Open House (April 1) featuring yours truly as the special guest artist! Witness an amazing glass blowing demo with murrini roll up. The theme of the night is bananas as I pay homage to what some have called the world's most perfect fruit. I will also be unveiling new work made durring my residency last fall. Doors open at 6, Demo at 7(ish), and fun continuing til 10 pm. After hours shenannigans t.b.d. For more details check out the event on Facebook.
